By the way, this often provokes floods on the streets of Pattaya, which, however, disappear after a few minutes. So, in August in Pattaya, the climate is characterized by high temperatures (30-32 degrees during the day, 28-30 at night) and high humidity (up to 90%). This provokes the appearance of mosquitoes. But even these troubles are not able to spoil the long-awaited vacation for tourists.
On the island of Koh Samui, during the same period, the weather is comfortable for a full-fledged beach holiday. The heat gradually subsides. The number of hours of sunshine remains at the level of the previous month, but intermittent rains, which fall in the late afternoon, saturate the atmosphere with saving humidity. The average air temperature in August on the island is 28-30 degrees, and the water warms up a little weaker. Swimming in clear sea water is a pleasure. This is facilitated by calm weather.
Another resort in Thailand, Phuket, is not particularly welcoming during this period of the year. Tourists who decide to go to this corner of the country will be somewhat disappointed by the heavy rains. However, disappointment will soon be replaced by jubilation, because the precipitation here, though abundant, is short-lived. Showers last only a couple of hours, after which the sun reappears in the sky, and the beaches are filled with tourists.
But for those who want to spend their holidays in the company of small children, we do not recommend booking rooms in hotels in August. The sea cannot be called clean, and the waves on the coast will leave their negative imprint on the impressions of the vacation. But all fans of surfing and other active forms of recreation will like the local climate in the last month of summer.
The air and water temperature in Phuket is practically no different from other resort places and ranges from 29-33 degrees above zero. High humidity remains throughout the day - up to 80%.
The rest on the island of Phi Phi will be more comfortable. In the last month of summer, sunny calm weather sets in here. Air humidity gradually increases and reaches its peak by September. Since in the first couple of weeks of the month the island falls under the influence of monsoons, it is this time that is better for a good rest than its last days. The average daily air temperature fluctuates between 26-31 degrees Celsius, and it rains, as a rule, in the dark. This is the weather in Thailand in August.
